Offense and defense are points scored and allowed per 100 possessions, adjusted for who a team played and where. The margin (AEM) is the difference — the one number that says how good a team is, and the Arena rank is that number ranked across Division I. Tempo is possessions per game. Schedule is the average margin of the opponents played.
Momentum is how far a team's results have landed from the closing line over its last ten games — a team at +5 has been beating the number by five a game. The style tags are earned by national rank, so "Three-Point Heavy" means a top-60 share of attempts from the arc, not a feeling.
Everything is computed from public box scores with our own formulas, rebuilt every morning, and shown only once a team has four games against Division I opponents (ranks from six). None of it is a rating and none of it changes one — Pete's Power Index is a separate product.
